A teacher and young mother of three children died after swallowing a bag of cocaine at the Manchester airport while waiting to board a plane. Victoria Buchanan, 42, was having a glass of champagne in the exclusive lounge of the airport waiting for her flight to Dubai, when she noticed that she still had in her possession a bag of cocaine from her holidays in the UK. Instead of throwing it in the trash, the woman decided to swallow the bag.
Victoria suffered an epileptic seizure when the bag ruptured in her stomach, the Manchester Evening News reported. She was reportedly rushed to Wythenshawe Hospital, where she died of cardiac arrest.
They investigated the cause of his death in court and found that it was "an unfortunate death," according to the publication. "We knew that she took small portions of cacaine occasionally and it was something we did together," her husband Mark Buchanan revealed to the court. "I had left the UK a few days before and there wasn't much [drug] left, but that doesn't matter anymore."
People who saw her fall to the floor thought she had anaphylactic shock since the woman was allergic to palm oil and had an EpiPen in her wallet for emergencies. The bag of cocaine was later found on her body during her autopsy. The young mother was originally from Scotland and had moved to Dubai in 2010, where she was working as a teacher. Rest in peace.
