Relatives and friends of Marlen Ochoa-López prepare in Chicago to say goodbye to the 19-year-old young mother who died in April when the son she carried in her womb was ripped from her and she was strangled in a Southside home in that city of Illinois.

Five members of the young victim's family, including her grandmother, were captured this Thursday night arriving at O'Hare airport from the Mexican states of Guerrero and Agusacalientes. According to the Telemundo affiliate in Chicago, the relatives were able to enter the country thanks to a 'humanitarian' visa.

"There is no way to understand," said the matriarch, Maria Estela Cárdenas to that chain. "Only God knows why He does things."

The family prepared a vigil for this Thursday and Friday on the eve of the funeral to be held on Saturday at the Mount Auburn Funeral Home in the Stickney neighborhood.

Marlen is survived by her now widower, Yovani López and a second son, as well as Yovanny Jadiel, the little boy who was ripped from her belly and who miraculously survived the trauma. The minor remains admitted and connected to a respirator while fighting for his life.

Clarissa Figueroa, 46, her daughter Desiree, 24, and her boyfriend, Piotr Bobak, 40, remain locked up in a Cook County jail without bond. The alleged criminals await their court hearing where they will face murder charges and hide a body, among others.
