Boxer Saúl Canelo Álvarez's most recent victory has been tarnished by the plane crash that cost the lives of a group of fans traveling back to Mexico from the city of Las Vegas after seeing the fight.

As reported by multiple media outlets, the three crew members and the 10 passengers traveling aboard the private jet died after the aircraft plunged ashore in the border state of Coahuila, Mexico.

Shared details about the accident add that after the plane left Sunday afternoon for the city of Monterrey, the aeronautical authorities lost contact with the crew after two hours of flight.

Apparently, the passengers traveling in the private aircraft were part of the thousands of fans who came from different parts of the world to see the expected fight between Canelo Álvarez and the American Daniel Jacobs, who met last Saturday at the renowned T Mobile Las Vegas Arena.

Although the causes that could have caused the fatal incident are still unknown, the Mexican authorities revealed the names of the people who lost their lives in it. The crew members who were on the plane were Commander Juan José Aguilar Talavera, First Officer Luis Ovidio González Flores and flight attendant Adriana Monserrath Mejía Sánchez.

The passengers who also traveled on the aircraft were: Martha Isabel García Lagunes, Gary Amauri Vela García, Manuel Alejandro Sepúlveda González, Frida Alejandrina Reyes Luna, Mónica Leticia Salinas Treviño, Ramón Amauri Vela, Jade Paola Reyes Luna, Luis Octavio Reyes Domínguez, Loyda Liliana Luna Larrosa and Guillermo Octavio Reyes Luna.
