A family in the Dominican Republic has dressed in mourning for the death of their 7-year-old son that occurred this Tuesday. The boy was seriously burned when he tried to imitate a video of the singer Bad Bunny along with his two cousins.

The incident occurred last Sunday, April 14, when the boy Franklin Mieses and the girls Angeli Mora, 14 years old; and Perla Masiel Mora, 11, tried to record their own version of the video for the song "La Romana", also known as "Fuego, fuego", which stars the Puerto Rican singer along with reggaeton player El Alfa.

In some shots of the aforementioned clip - filmed in the streets of La Romana, in the Dominican Republic - the artists are seen singing surrounded by flames.

As explained, the three children scattered flammable materials on a street in the El Tamarindo sector, located east of Santo Domingo. Then they set them on fire to record their clip.

However, things did not go as expected and the children were seriously burned, with little Franklin suffering injuries to 60 percent of his body. Both the minor and his two cousins were rushed to the Burns Unit of the Robert Reid Cabral Children's Hospital, as confirmed by the EFE agency.

"The boy died this Tuesday at night because his burns were very, very serious, since we received them all three on April 14," Andrés Nieves, director of the medical unit, told the source.

On the other hand, it is noted that both Angeli and her cousin remain admitted in "stable condition", but that the possibility of transferring them to a pediatric hospital in Massachusetts is being studied to continue their treatment.

"These types of injuries tend to be very delicate for healing, due to the extent and depth of the burns; the destruction of the tissues is greater, it is something very regrettable ", assured the specialist.
