Weeks after her 15th birthday, Sabriya McLean, of New Castle, Delaware, was stabbed 80 times and then burned by a man she met on Facebook, NBC 10 reported.

McLean reportedly traveled to Philadelphia to meet the subject - Cole Swaringer-Herring, 23 - on Monday night. He confessed to stabbing McLean in his apartment, but the motive has not been revealed. According to reports, the suspect confessed the crime to his parents, who alerted the police the next morning.

The teenager's remains were found in a pile of leaves in an alley. Police are investigating Swaringer-Herring's past after "several encounters with the police." Court documents show that he has faced charges of theft, terrorist threats, simple assault and reckless recklessness over the years.

In 2014, when McLean was just 11 years old, she was reported missing. Reports from that time said that she was "hiding from her parents" and was found safe and sound.

Swaringer-Herring was charged with manslaughter, arson, body abuse and related offenses, and is currently being held in a Philadelphia prison.

McLean was reported missing by her family earlier in the week.
