Mother Murders Her Two-month-old Daughter

A mother in England was jailed for killing her two-month-old daughter. Abigail Palmer, 33, broke the girl's ribs from a strong beating to stop her crying. Teri-Rae, the nine-week-old girl, suffered from severe oxygen starvation and broken ribs. Before calling the police to report her daughter's critical condition, the woman called a cocaine dealer multiple times to bring her drugs.

The single mother was in danger of losing custody of the girl due to her drug addiction since a drug test they did during her pregnancy by Teri-Rae tested positive. The woman promised to change her lifestyle but continued to use drugs and alcohol, according to reports.

The mother called the ambulance about 15 minutes after the brutal beating and when paramedics arrived they were unable to save the girl. The judge said in giving her sentence: “What you did is appalling. Only you know why you attacked Teri-Rae in this way."

Abigail told a jury that she had killed the newborn because she had been unable to sleep for 72 hours and could no longer bear the crying of the little girl. The mother will remain in a Birmingham jail for more than 13 years, her trial reported. She caused a shock worldwide, putting the spotlight on the violence that is increasingly common against defenseless babies by their parents. May Teri-Rae rest in peace.
