A man was found guilty of killing his girlfriend's baby. Tom Curd, 31, severely beat Eve Leatherland, his partner's daughter, multiple times. While the 22-month-old baby was dying, the couple played video games and watched social media, according to the prosecution. The man ended up killing her by poisoning the girl with a missing dose of codeine, the Daily Mail reported. Her mother Abigail Leatherland, 26, was also found guilty. The girl's father, Dean Bird, said he wanted to "rip off the head" of his daughter's killer by seeing him at his trial in court.

"Now I have to earn the rights to get Eve's corpse so she can rest in peace," said the heartbroken father. During the trial, photos of the dirty mattress where the little girl slept were also shown as evidence of the hell the girl lived in. The prosecution reported that the fractures the baby had in her skull and ribs were similar to what she would have had if she had been in a car accident.

Curd was found guilty of murder while the mother was found guilty of negligence and allowing the death of a minor. Forensic doctors revealed that the girl had a lacerated liver and died of a codeine overdose.
