A mother in Texas is still in awe. A man shot his dog in the face in front of his son and nephew. Then he fled the scene.
Although it looks like a scene out of a horror movie, it is a true story. People reports that the Dallas Police Department is asking the public for their cooperation in order to identify the subject who approached the children of 5 and 7 years old on March 7. The minors were taking out the trash when the tragedy happened.
The pet nicknamed Nolan, a nine-month-old Labrador Retriever, was shot by an individual wearing a black hooded sweater and backpack. The man would have said, "Sorry" or "I'm sorry," before unloading the weapon at the animal, People says.
The note in the online version of the magazine explains that the armed man was identified as an African American. After shooting the animal, the individual ran in a hurry. Meanwhile, the wounded animal returned to the home of its owner, Genola Vance. "He ran to me in the house and there was blood everywhere," Vance explained to the WFAA station.
The People note explains that the children were behind the dog when the man injured him. The minors were yelling, "Someone shot Nolan!" Poeple reports that Vance, the mother of one of the children, explained that the man just looked at them and said "I'm sorry" before firing the shots. Police had confirmed that neither the children nor the dog did anything that caused the man to react like this. The man has not yet been arrested, but would face animal cruelty charges.
