Alice's parents have a very special love story. Her mother Jessica Share fell in love with the 13-year-old's father long after the girl was born. Share had her daughter thanks to an anonymous sperm donor whom she met years later and is now her partner. Seeing the family sitting on the couch in their Seattle apartment, no one would imagine their modern love story. Jessica Share, 43, revealed to PEOPLE that her daughter started asking her questions about her dad on Christmas 2016. The then 11-year-old girl knew she had been conceived thanks to a sperm donor and wanted to know more about his biological father.
The girl asked her grandmother as a Christmas present for a 23andMe DNA kit and when the results returned, they learned that Alice is 48 percent German, 15 percent British and another mix of European heritage. In the section of relatives with the same DNA came the name of Aaron Long, who had a 50 relationship seal with her.
Jessica then sought out Aaron, a 53-year-old musician and writer who lived in Seattle through 23andMe, and he opened the doors of his heart to the mother and daughter, who traveled from their home in Eugene, Oregon to Seattle to meet him at July 2017.
The rest is history. "I fell in love with my sperm donor," Jessica confesses. "I felt like I already knew him - the way he smiled and his sense of empathy reminded me of Alice," she adds of her daughter.
In August 2017, mother and daughter moved with Aaron to Seattle. The man has another daughter who lives with them and they calculate that due to the sperm he donated (in the mid-1990s after graduating from university) he has at least 10 other children that he fathered with unknown mothers. "It is definitely a very modern love story," admits Aaron of how he hit the crush on his daughter's mother.
