Giant Cross Strikes Tourists As It Appears On A Florida Beach

This week, a curious sight caused confusion among bathers in South Florida. A 20-foot cross appeared Saturday night on the beach behind the Ocean Manor Resort Hotel.

Several tourists and residents of the area wondered where the giant cross came from as they watched in disbelief as the waves of the sea smashed against the sacred symbol.

"People have possibly suggested Puerto Rico," said John Moschella, who discovered the cross. "Others have said [that it comes from] Los Callos. It's really unknown where it came from."

Frank Talerico, the owner of the Ocean Manor Resort Hotel, said he viewed the cross as a sign of protection. Think it may be a coincidence, or a divine intervention. He said his sister was praying on the property that morning because she was scared from a bad dream.

"She said to me, 'You know what? It's not that bad.' I just had a bad dream and a bad feeling, so I wanted to come here and pray," he recalled. "And I said, 'Okay, thanks for doing that.'" Hours later, the cross appeared at the hotel "You know what, I'm glad he's here," said Talerico.

The owner of the establishment plans to make the unexpected visit to the cross an attraction for those who want to receive a blessing, take photos of the cross, or simply browse. "They will be more than welcome."
