An Iowa couple is mourning the death of their 13-year-old son. The teenager was found dead on Sunday five days after he ran away from home. Corey Brown was found dead by police Sunday at 10:45 am in an isolated area of Marshalltown, police said in a statement. The teenager had left his home during a snowstorm after arguing with his parents. According to the Des Moines Register, the parents had taken away his cell phone as a scolding and the boy left the family home.

Corey was last seen walking through that area on Tuesday around 11:15 p.m., amid winter storm Indra, the Weather Channel reported. The temperature dropped to five degrees on the days Corey was missing and even reached 13 degrees below zero on Sunday. According to the police there is no evidence that the young man has been the victim of any criminal activity "but all possible scenarios will be thoroughly investigated."

More than 200 people joined the search for the teenager, going for a walk in the wind and snow, KCCI reported. Her parents, Michelle Brown and Craig Brown, woke up at 5:30 am last Wednesday and found Corey was not in her room, the Marshalltown Times-Republican newspaper reported.

While they were looking for him, his parents spoke at a press conference begging their son to come home. “Corey, if you're out there, son, you're not punished. Just come home,”said his father. His mother tearfully asked him, “Corey, you know how much we love you. I won't stop until we find you. If you're out there, please go home."
