Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has once again been the target of all kinds of ridicule and criticism on social networks, after a video of him burping in the middle of a speech went viral on multiple digital platforms.
According to various media reports, the painful moment occurred last Monday when the president was addressing the National Constituent Assembly of Venezuela. Despite the fact that the speech lasted more than four hours, the belching has transformed in the instant it has given to speak on the networks.
In the images that now circulate through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, the precise second is seen in which the president lets out a burp and decides to continue with his speech as if nothing had happened.
Information shared by the online site radio station La FM, adds that the peculiar moment carried out by Maduro occurred just when he was handing over his balance sheet on what has been his mandate in economic and social issues for Venezuela.
As the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo added in a report on its YouTube channel, in addition to the painful belching, the controversial president's speech was also loaded with "inaccuracies and lies."
The report of the renowned newspaper assured that Maduro emphasized the importance that 2019 will have for the recovery of the country's economy, using the same strategies that have plunged Venezuela into the crisis that is currently underway: increased wages, increased taxes and devaluation of currency.
