Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton dominated the headlines with news of a wedding, an expected pregnancy, and the birth of a new royal baby, but the hardest-working person in the British royal family in 2018 was Princess Anne. The daughter of Queen Elizabeth and younger sister of Prince Charles, she kept herself busy, making 447 public appearances in England and attending 71 events abroad, the British newspaper The Times reported.

Princess Anne attended more events than Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry combined. William, 36, attended 150 events in England and 70 abroad, while Harry, 34, attended 108 events in his country and 85 outside of England.

Prince Charles is also well kept busy. Queen Elizabeth's heir won the title of 'hardest worker' in 2017, attending 374 events in England and 172 activities abroad. Their younger siblings Princes Andrew (394 events) and Edward (463) follow them in 2018 with a plethora of commitments made.

At 92, Queen Elizabeth herself was able to attend 283 events in England, although she no longer makes long trips. For the third year in a row, Kate was the one who attended the fewest events (87). The 36-year-old mother spends much of her time with her three children and was resting on maternity leave before receiving her son Louis.

Meghan, 37, attended 45 events in England and 51 abroad. The Duchess of Sussex's engagements began this year after her wedding to Prince Harry in May.

Congratulations to Princess Anne on her productive year 2018! We will follow in her footsteps in 2019.
