A Washington mother is accused of killing her 14-year-old daughter with a gun while the teenager desperately tried to call 911 for help. The violent incident also involved the victim's father and brother, PEOPLE confirmed.

Svetlana Laurel, 52, was arrested Tuesday night after police received a call from her daughter asking for help. The teenager was identified by KIRO 7 as Natalie Gulizia, and told authorities that her mother had a firearm and a Taser electric pistol and that she had tied up her 12-year-old brother.

The woman, who had separated from her husband Michael, appeared at the home where he lived with his teenage children, according to a police affidavit. The boy was alone and let the mother pass. Once inside the house, she tied the boy and put a stocking in his mouth with adhesive tape so that he did not move or scream. She then removed the stocking from her mouth but threatened her with the Taser pistol if she screamed, the boy told authorities.

According to the police, her ex-husband, the father of the children, arrived at the house with Natalie around 8 pm "Svetlana took out a gun and told [the father] that he was going to kill him because he had ruined his life," she says. the affidavit that describes the 911 call where the chaotic incident is heard. Natalie, who was attending Kennedy Catholic High School, ran to call 911 and described everything that was happening to the operator for 15 minutes, then tells her that her mother has already gone upstairs and found her. The operator reported that she heard Laurel yelling "You called 911" and threatening to shoot her in the head. Then a shot rang out and the mother came down the stairs where she tried to shoot the father but he was able to take the gun from her hands. Police arrived at 8:32 pm, arresting Laurel and taking the boy from the house. Authorities found Natalie's lifeless body with a shot to the head.

"It is unimaginable," Sandra Havlik, spokeswoman for the Renton Police Department told PEOPLE. Authorities report that the mother had recently lost custody of the children. Laurel is in jail in Seattle and her trial is scheduled for December 21.
