Police responded to at least 35 calls made to 911 from the home of the perpetrator of a school massacre in Parkland, Florida.

This is confirmed by police reports, revealing that despite his violent and erratic behavior, Nikolas Cruz, 19, had never been arrested before his arrest on Wednesday when he entered the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School to kill 17 people, including students and teachers.

The calls were made from 2010 through November 2016 and also involved the gunman's younger brother, Zachary Cruz. The youngsters had shown "erratic", "out of control" behavior, "throwing objects" and had even run away from home, according to the site Buzzfeed.com.

An example is the call made to 911 by the adoptive mother of the two youngsters, Lynda Cruz, on August 22, 2012. By this means the woman warned that her children - who at that time were 12 and 13 years old - were threatening”.

The calls continued for years and practically until the death of the woman, which occurred in November at age 68. They reported incidents of various kinds, such as the one in which the old woman had been attacked by Nikolas with a hose or that her children were fighting violently.

Police reports specify that both Nikolas and Zachary suffered from mental problems, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), that they were taking medication for it and that they had attended a school for children with behavioral problems.

Lynda Cruz, originally from Long Island, died in November of complications from influenza and pneumonia. Thereafter the brothers were placed in the care of friends. Nikolas had been expelled from school and worked in a Dollar Tree chain store.

Meanwhile, it was revealed that after his heinous crime, the young man mingled with the students who were fleeing the campus to go to a Subway chain restaurant, where he bought a drink. He subsequently moved to a McDonald's and was eventually arrested.

Cruz now faces 17 counts of premeditated murder.
