Marsha Edwards shared photos with her children and pride messages about them on Instagram before allegedly killing them and then committing suicide, The New York Post reported. Her daughter Erin Edwards, 20, was a student at Boston University and had worked as an intern on NBC Channel 4 in New York. Authorities suspect that the mother also killed her 24-year-old son at her Atlanta home, allegedly shooting both of them before shooting herself.
Marsha Edwards had a medical equipment company and her ex-husband - and father of their children - is surgeon Chris Edwards, according to reports. The family sent a statement after the tragedy to WXIA, expressing their sadness. "Dr. Christopher Edwards learned Wednesday of the death of his ex-wife, Dr. Marsha Edwards, and their adult children Christopher Edwards Jr. and Erin Edwards," the message says. "Dr. Edwards and the rest of his family and friends are in a state of mourning and shock and it is essential that the family have privacy while making funeral arrangements."
According to reports, the mother had shared on Instagram on Wednesday - the same day they all died - a message showing her pride for her children with photos of her smiling with them. “I had the best summer, first with [Chris] in Miami and then with Erin in Italy. I couldn't ask for better children”, she expressed on the social network, where she shared photos with her daughter in Florence, in front of the Tower of Pisa and in a vineyard in Tuscany.
The case is still under investigation and the reason why Marsha Edwards would have decided to end her life and that of her children has not yet been revealed. May they rest in peace.
