A new case of child suicide by bullying has shocked an entire community.

An Alabama mother says bullying at school led to her 9-year-old daughter committing suicide, reports CBS Birmingham.

Little McKenzie Adams, 9, killed herself after experiencing bullying and racism by her classmates at school.

"He told me that this particular kid was writing nasty notes to him in class," the mother, Jasmine Adams, told CBS. "They were just things you wouldn't believe a 9-year-old should know … And for my baby to tell me some of the things they had told him, I said, 'Where are you learning this from?'" He said.

Adams said her daughter reported the incident to teachers at the Jones School in Demopolis and to her assistant principal. However, Adams feels that the school system disappoints her family as no action was taken.

"Our confidence was in them that they would do the right thing," said Jasmine Adams. "And I think it was not."

Adams said that she transferred her daughter to another school because of the same problem. According to the mother, the problem started again at the new school.

"Part of that could have been because she was going to school with a white family," Adams revealed since a white family was taking their daughter to school. “Some of the students who harassed them said to him: 'Why do you travel with white people? You are black, you are ugly. You should die, "said Adams.

Demopolis City Schools attorney Alex Braswell said the case is under investigation. He called the situation "sad and pointless."

In a statement, school officials said, “Certainly, our hearts go out to Mckenzie's family and friends and fellow students, as well as her teachers. The Demopolis school system has provided crisis counselors and crisis counselors at the school since then, ministers and youth. Ministers have been on campus since the date of this incident."
