Guadalupe Olivas Valencia, 44, decided to kill himself after he was deported by the United States authorities. The Mexican jumped from a vehicular bridge on the border that connects the cities of Tijuana and San Diego.

As reported by the BBC online site, the man reportedly decided to commit suicide just meters from the border between the two nations, minutes after US authorities deported him and left him adrift.

Witnesses assure that Olivas Valencia was quite upset and shouted that he did not want to return to Mexico, his country of origin and to where he had already been returned twice.

The Colombian newspaper El Tiempo adds that some people who also witnessed what happened "observed the victim in distress after being deported to a city where he did not know anyone."

After attending the emergency call, the Mexican authorities found the unconscious immigrant next to a plastic bag in which his few belongings were delivered. Although he managed to be transferred to a hospital, he died as a result of a contusion and a heart attack.

The raids and arrests of undocumented immigrants have intensified since the arrival at the White House of Donald Trump, who assured during his presidential campaign that he would be responsible for deporting millions of people who do not have permission to be in the United States.

The Mexican government has expressed its total rejection of the magnate's immigration policies and has assured that he will spare no effort to help his Mexican compatriots.
