San Diego Teens Appear Executed

Two teenagers born in San Diego who were friends for years were executed and with torture marks in the city of Tijuana after disappearing for several days when they were going to eat at a barbecue.

Christopher Alexis Gómez, 17, and a student at O'Farrell Charter High School and Juan Suárez-Ojeda, 18, who had graduated from the Ingenuity Charter School, were last seen when they headed to Ensenada, Mexico, The last friday.

The youngsters reported that they were going to a barbecue with their friend Ángel Said Robles, 17, a high school student from Tijuana. On Saturday one of them called his mother to tell them that they were fine but that they had lost their phone and that was the last time they were heard from.

According to the Mexican newspaper Punto Norte, around 5:00 am on Sunday the police received a call reporting gunshots in an apartment located in the Lomas Verdes neighborhood.

There, authorities find the three young men with a shot to the head at the entrance to the modest home. According to said source, the position of the bodies indicated that before being executed, the victims were forced to kneel.

The aforementioned newspaper also indicates that the youths were allegedly executed by an "armed group." However, sources informed People that the reasons for this heinous crime are still unknown.

Police records show Robles had a previous car theft charge, a version his family disputes.

"[Alexis] was the sweetest, least selfish person in the world," her cousin Katheryn Garcia exclaimed to the San Diego Union-Tribune newspaper. "I know this sounds like the typical story that 'you go to Tijuana and this is what happens to you' … but this should not have happened to him."
