September 25, 2018 will be an unforgettable day for millions of donut and coffee lovers, as the global chain of stores Dunkin 'Donuts made an announcement that stumped more than one: remove the word “Donuts” from their Name.
So is! As announced by the company through its social networks, after 68 years of history, its name will now be Dunkin '. Of course, donut lovers at the renowned establishment can breathe easy, and this radical change does not mean that stores will stop offering these appetizing snacks.
As revealed to CNN through its online site, the change in name is that the company wants to have an image that focuses more on its beverage products such as coffee and tea, which contribute 60% of the sales generated in the United States.
"Our new image is one of the great changes we are making to grow and modernize our customers 'experience with Dunkin,'" company CEO David Hoffmann told the news network.
Despite the fact that the company has already begun to renew the image of its stores and its logo, the reports add that the official change will take effect from January 2019.
The donut and coffee giant is not the first food store franchise to have made a radical change to its image and name. In 2012, the now chain called Domino's decided to remove the word "Pizza" from its name.
