Clothing brand Coach, which recently launched a new line of bags featuring Selena Gomez, is facing a big change. Its parent company, Coach Inc., has changed its name to Tapestry Inc.

The company made the news yesterday, assuring that the goal was to be more inclusive. The company currently has three brands, Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman, and they plan to acquire even more.

Victor Luis, director of Coach Inc., said in a company press release that although each brand is unique, they all share the values of optimism, inclusiveness and innovation. “We are looking for a name that will reflect those values and that will communicate the diversity of our people and our brands, for today and tomorrow. At Tapestry, we find a name that represents creativity, craftsmanship, authenticity and inclusiveness…”, he expressed. "We are establishing a strong and different corporate identity, one that enables our brands to express their individual personalities and unique language to their consumers."

In 2015, Coach Inc. acquired Stuart Weitzman for sale to Kate Spade for $ 2.4 billion. Apparently they are open to buying more brands, and have their eyes fixed on Europe and Asia. "We are at a defining moment now in our corporate reinvention as we have evolved from being a specialty retailer for a brand to being a house of desired brands," Luis continued.

Officially, the change takes effect on October 31.
