Warning: creepy pictures.
Tax authorities released videos on Wednesday of the cell phone of Nikolas Cruz, the attacker of the Stonmen Douglas school massacre, which claimed 17 lives in Parkland, Florida.
Everyone is going to die. Pew Pew Pew. I can't wait,”Cruz tells the camera in a video he took of himself.
He introduces himself as "Nik, the next 2018 school gunner," and then names his AR-15 rifle, describing the type of weapon he used to carry out the February 14 shooting.
In addition to establishing part of his plan, which says that he will take an Uber to school, he says that "it will be a great event" and that everyone will know who he is.
According to prosecutors, the videos clearly show that he had meticulously planned the shooting, so they say they will seek the death penalty.
In another of the videos, Cruz talks about her mood. "I am nothing", "my life has no meaning" and "I hate everyone and everything". The video ends by declaring your love for someone named Angie. Although it is not clear who the girl is, Cruz says he hopes to meet her in the afterlife.
On social media, many survivors of the shooting criticized news organizations for broadcasting and publishing the videos, saying notoriety was what Cruz wanted.
Andrew Pollack, whose daughter Meadow died in the shooting, told CNN that he was confused by the revelation of the videos. He doesn't want the shooter to receive more publicity, but he believes the recordings are important evidence. Pollack said Cruz, who has a history of being treated for mental illness, will not be able to claim at trial that he was crazy or did not know what he was doing.
"He knew what he was doing," he said. "Everything is premeditated murder."
