It was 135 pounds that made the difference for Laura Morgan, a 24-year-old girl who proudly displayed an image of her before and after.
Her body has changed dramatically since she began her journey to improve her health and lose weight two years ago. The photo compares her body wearing a black dress when she weighed 378 pounds and her current figure, weighing in at 243 lbs., In the same dress that noticeably fits her larger.
"When you look at these photos, you see a victory because overall you get through the tough times, you get through the hardships and you get stronger and it pushes you to success," he continued, "he wrote via Instagram in his post. "I am grateful for each of the ups and downs of this trip […]".
How did you get healthy and fit? It all started with 4 simple food-related changes, Morgan tells Health magazine.
"I slowly cut down on fast food and learned how to cook, and focused on portion sizes and eating nutritious foods," he says. “Once I felt like I had control over my diet, I worked on incorporating exercise. Exercising at 378 [pounds] was just walking… [Doing everything] as hard as I had in the past, preparing me to feel overwhelmed and abandoned, so this time I knew it.”
Soon after, Morgan started going to the gym once a week, gradually increasing the hours she spent training. Now she works five to six days a week and focuses on weight lifting.
"I was desperately looking for someone I could connect with," he says. "Someone who had started at a weight as high as mine, who lost weight only with diet and exercise, and who shared their journey from the beginning, rather than only when they were close to their goal", so he decided to become it and be the source of inspiration for other girls. "If I can make a positive impact in this community and give hope to someone who may feel a little lost and hopeless like me, then it has all been worth it."
