Pregnant Loses Her Baby In The Bronx

A Hispanic veteran of war is in critical condition after being stabbed by her own boyfriend inside her home in Bronx County, New York. The 30-year-old woman was pregnant and lost the baby she was expecting due to the attack.

Early Tuesday, Liv Abreu, who was part of the air division of the 82nd Army battalion, was rushed to the Lincoln Hospital after being attacked by a subject at around 12:30 am inside her apartment, located in the coming Walton, near the Yankees stadium.

According to police reports, the expectant mother was stabbed 6 times in the chest and once in the side, and was 26 weeks pregnant. Despite her serious condition, Abreu managed to crawl down the stairs while bleeding to death and was able to knock on a neighbor's door for help.

"I was so excited about the baby, they both were," Gloria Lambert, one of the neighbors, told the New York Daily News. “You could already tell, she looked very happy. This was going to be her first child.”

The police immediately went in search of Oscar Álvarez, 30, the woman's boyfriend and father of the child, who had fled in the Cherokee-owned vehicle owned by his partner.
