Miss Venezuela, one of the most important institutions in the world has been closed, the reason? The alleged link between the event and corruption, high-level prostitution, among other things.
Many former contestants gave interviews and testimonies where Osmel Sousa, who was the president of the contest, allegedly proposed to them to do improper things with businessmen. "The treatment and interaction with all the candidates, of course, was not the same as each one has their own personality and attitudes differ," Sousa said on his social networks. "But respect for them as a person and the demands on them as professionals and representatives of the values and beauty of Venezuelan women have always been the common denominator."
People en Español spoke to Roberto Ramos, who was one of the pageant makeup artists for five years and he also spoke about Sousa's performance as president. "I have the best memories, it was a company that formed me and helped me project myself outside my country," says Ramos, who explained that there were people (managers) who recruited the girls so that Osmel could decide if they had misse wood or not.. "I never saw Osmel Sousa [do those things], I never heard [anything]. In fact, none of the misses I was doing came up to tell me that Osmel had proposed something indecent to him. I never hear it".
Each one has its truth, the only certainty so far is that Miss Venezuela continues to be closed and according to official press releases, the contest owners will restructure each of the positions so that incidents of this kind that affect the organization do not happen again, but especially to the contestants.
