Two women in the state of South Dakota were arrested for physically abusing the children in their care at the daycare where they worked and now face 25 charges of child cruelty.
As revealed by People magazine through a report on its online site , Teresa Gallagher, 31, and Kenedi Wendt, 22, indiscriminately mistreated the little ones - ages 3-4 - during their nap time.
Security videos obtained by the authorities in charge of the investigation revealed how the two women lifted the children and then dropped them on the floor, in addition to taking them by the arms to drag them around the place and walking on them, all this while the little ones slept.
"The kids didn't like nap time," Sam Clemens, a member of the police force in charge of the case, revealed at a press conference. "We understood everything after investigators analyzed the center's security videos, in which much of the reported abuse was captured," he added.
Gallagher and Wendt were fired from their job last February when the parents of the children in the care of the Little Blessings Learning Center in the city of Sioux Falls began to report irregularities in the treatment of their little ones.
City police began the investigation against the women after a boy told his mother that he had been hit in the head while sleeping. To this were added other parents who also brought to light anomalies that happened especially at bedtime.
At the moment the women are detained and a bond of $ 25,000 was set for them.
