Venezuelan Video Hitting His Girlfriend

A shocking video that shows a Venezuelan baseball player hitting his then girlfriend has shaken the nets and is now about to cost him the race.

The clip in question was recorded on August 2, 2016 by security cameras on the steps of a stadium. 1:06 minutes shows the moment when 24-year-old Danry Vásquez violently hits a young girl, gives her more blows once she is knocked down on the floor, and then drags her down the stairs taking her by the hair.

After a pause the player seems to realize what happened and picks up his victim's glasses to put them back on. But after arguing briefly he leaves the place. But that was not the end of it all: the man reappeared to confront the girl and after a short discussion he hit her again hard until she was on the ground.

Following the incident, Vásquez - who was then a player in the Corpus Christi Hooks of the AA of the Houston Astros, in Texas - was arrested on charges of domestic violence.

This March 6, the case was dismissed by the district attorney Michael González, after Vásquez admitted having problems with his temperament. González determined that the player had complied with the stipulations established in his plea agreement and with the treatment to treat his emotional problem.
