The dream of many girls around the world will soon be fulfilled.

The Mattell brand announced that in the month of women it will launch the well-known Barbie dolls with great figures who have been recognized as representatives of female power such as Frida Kahlo, Amelia Earhart and Katherine Johnson.

All three women made history in different industries: Mexican artist Kahlo was known for her unique style of painting and her feminist activism. Earhart was the first female aviator to cross the Atlantic Ocean; and Johnson, the actress depicted in the Hidden Figures movie, released in 2016, pushed the boundaries of women of color in math and calculated dozens of trajectories for NASA.

"As a brand that inspires limitless potential in girls, Barbie will honor its largest line of role models to be scheduled for International Women's Day because we know that [girls] cannot be what they cannot see," said Lisa. McKnight, the vice president and general manager of Barbie in a press release.

The dolls, which are part of Mattel's new series called "Inspiring Women", will be mass produced and sold on shelves. The toy company doesn't have an exact date for when they hit stores but said each doll will come with educational information about the woman who inspired it.

Girls have always been able to play different roles and careers with Barbie and we are delighted to bring light to real-life models to remind them that they can be what they set out to do.”

The 14 new women Barbie celebrates with her “Shero” line include Olympic snow skier Chloe Kim and Wonder Woman film director Patty Jenkins.
