Doug Laux and Ben Smith, two former agents of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA, for its acronym in English), released the finding of a sunken submarine, which, allegedly, was used by the leader of the Medellin Cartel, Pablo Escobar, to mobilize drugs from Colombia to Puerto Rico; and then move it to the United States, according to the English newspaper The Daily Mail.
The discovery was documented by Discovery Channel UK for the program titled Diving For The Wreck of Escobar's Submarine; In it, you can see the follow-up carried out by the former agents from their arrival on a Colombian coast, until they entered the sea to search for this ship, where two divers are looking for the aforementioned vessel.
At the beginning of the journey, the researchers did not know if they would be successful, but they were convinced that they had to find clues, since the locals claimed that the submarine existed.
"It may not be a submarine, but I can't overlook the possibility that it could be one of those things," Smith said in the broadcast. "I think it's worth spending the time looking for it."
At the bottom of the sea, the remains of that boat and a metal box were located, although the existence of money or drugs was ruled out. However, experts say this discovery could lead to clues to where the drug trafficker concealed a fortune valued at $ 70 billion.
Despite the fact that Pablo Escobar died more than two decades ago, on December 2, 1993, the mysteries around him continue, particularly, the hiding place of that large fortune of which, to this day, there are still no clues.
