At least 184 people were reportedly killed after a horrendous terrorist attack on a mosque located in the Egyptian province of Bir Al-Abed.
According to a report published by the CNN online site, the mosque is said to have been the target of strong explosions that unleashed a stampede among the people who were crowded at the site.
Armed men, waiting outside the compound, fired indiscriminately at the faithful who were trying to flee the temple after the explosions. Initial reports assure that 184 people died and an estimated 125 others were wounded after the bloody attack.
Although so far no extremist group has claimed responsibility for the sad event that has paralyzed Egypt, the leaders of that nation have not hesitated to describe the events as a terrorist attack.
The news channel report adds that Egyptian security forces face attacks by ISIS militants day after day, so it is not ruled out that this massacre was the work of the Islamic State.
The president of the African nation, Abdel Fatah el - Sisi, declared a three-day national mourning after what happened, which is already classified as one of the deadliest attacks the country has faced against the civilian population.
