An unexpected and terrifying situation occurred at noon on Monday at the Radio Echo station in Moscow when an unknown man broke into his offices aggressively and tried to cut the neck of the renowned journalist Tatiana Felgenhauer.

According to the newspaper El País, the stranger appeared at the scene and attacked with pepper spray the security guard who was guarding the entrance. After accessing the site, he went to the newsroom and immediately looked for Felgenhauer, against whom he shot a knife in his hand.

The aggressor managed to injure Felgenhauer in the neck, so he had to be transferred to a hospital, where he underwent surgery and is in an induced coma.

The aggressor was immediately reduced and is in the hands of the authorities, who have identified him as Boris Grits, 48.

Authorities assure that the suspect stated during his interrogation that he had been communicating telepathically with the journalist for five years, at which time he began to feel animosity towards the communicator, which for investigators could be the reason for the attack, according to the American NPR radio.

Grits, who will be examined by psychiatrists, assures in a video that shows a short segment of his interrogation that the journalist "persecuted" him, according to ABC.

Felgenhauer has worked at Radio Eco for more than a decade and is the titular host of one of her most popular shows. Like the station, she is known for being critical of the Vladimir Putin government. The journalist won the Moscow prize for journalism in 2010.
