The remembered American Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney, 21, revealed through her social networks that she was a victim of sexual abuse since she was just 13 years old.
Maroney, who was part of the women's team that won the gold medal at the London 2012 Olympics, said that for years she was abused by Dr. Larry Nassar, who worked for nearly three decades with the Federation's medical team. of the United States Gymnastics and now faces charges of more than 125 women for sexual harassment.

"Dr. Nassar told me that he was receiving 'necessary treatment that he had given to patients for the past 30 years.' “The scariest night of my life happened when I was 15 years old. I traveled all day and night with the team to Tokyo. During the flight he gave me a sleeping pill, the next thing I remember was that he was alone in his hotel room receiving a 'treatment'. I thought I was going to die that night,”adds the girl's heartbreaking story.
Nassar, who was charged with caring for the health of America's most renowned gymnasts during the past Olympics, faces 22 first-degree criminal charges of sexual abuse and could be sentenced to life in prison if found guilty. So far, Maroney and gymnast Jamie Dantzscher, a medalist at Sidney 2000, are the only Olympic gymnast to have publicly accused Nassar.
