Richmond, Virginia police are continuing to investigate the events surrounding the death of 17-month-old baby Nariah Ivy Brown, who reportedly died after being sexually abused.

The events occurred in early May at the Colony House Motor Lodge motel, located on the Midlothian Turnpike. The minor died two days later as a result of her injuries.

Aija Brown, mother of the baby, said that she had left the girl in charge of her boyfriend while he was driving a relative in his car. Brown explained that he had been dating the subject for about a year and that he trusted him fully because they had known each other since fourth grade, as reported by WWBT in Richmond.

"I said, 'Baby, I love you … and I'm going to let you go with him … and I'm coming back," Brown told the source. The woman explained that upon returning to the motel, she found that the baby had been horrifyingly assaulted. She immediately took the girl to VCU Medical Center where doctors detected multiple wounds, including perforations in her lungs and fractures in her ribs.

"I was in a panic, disgusted, in total shock … that something had happened to her," she said.

"Nariah was a friendly, happy, and very loving baby whose life was taken from a mother, grandmother, grandfather, uncles, and an entire family who loved her deeply," she told herself via a GoFundMe page established in honor of the baby to pay for her funeral services. "I loved to dance. She suffered an enormous amount of wounds that led her to be called home by the Lord. MCV did everything in his power to save her. We will really miss Naria Ivy Brown. Please continue to pray for your family during these incredibly tragic moments.”

For their part, the authorities have in their custody an individual whose identity has not been disclosed. It is unknown whether they will announce charges against him.

"I love my daughter … but I just want parents [or] whoever, to keep their children close," said the woman to send a message to the community about the importance of caring for children of this type. of abuse.
