They Find Embraced Bodies Of A Couple

The search is over for two distraught families who have been searching non-stop since last July for two youngsters last seen in Joshua Tree National Park, California.

The lifeless bodies of Rachel Nguyen and Joseph Orbeso, both in their 20s, were located in a remote spot in the vast park and surprisingly joined in a hug.

Rescuers from the Joshua Tree Search and Rescue located the entangled bodies this Sunday at 11:30 am after a group of speleologists discovered sunglasses, food wrappers and clothing scattered near some cliffs where they were looking for the couple.

I thought I would find them. I didn't know when, but now I have my answer,” Gilbert Orbeso, father of one of the youngsters, told the CBS KESQ affiliate. Both Orbeso and the Nguyen family were constantly looking for the youngsters and even offered a reward of inexperience to explore or climb - he had disappeared on July 27 after renting a house in the region and going out to explore the park to celebrate the birthday of Nguyen.

Different testimonies indicated that the couple had been seen outside the park the day they disappeared; Later, sunglasses were found in Joshua Tree and the authorities concluded that it was in that park where the pair had been lost.

Orbeso and Nguyen's car was discovered near the Maze Loop circuit, in the northwest part of the park, where the couple was located. According to George Land, a park spokesman, tracks were found moving away from the car. "The way the footprints were identified indicates that these people were walking in circles, which is not uncommon among people who are lost," he told the Orange County Register.

After locating the bodies, a forensic office helicopter dispatched from San Bernardino began to fly over the area to collect the remains and confirm their identity.

“[We feel] a sense of relief because we found them after taking these long walks. I feel like we can bring this to a close, "Orbeso told ABC 7." That was our main goal: to find them. I hope they rest in peace."
