Salma Hayek's performance in the movie Beatriz at Dinner has garnered her rave reviews from experts and strangers, which should keep the Mexican very happy. Now her family also joins to recognize the work of the Veracruz woman and they even assure that she could get her second nomination for an award from the Hollywood Academy of Sciences and Cinematographic Arts.
"I think he does have a very good chance of winning something," Sami Hayek, the actress' brother, told the Mexican television program Ventaneando (TV Azteca). “Yes, I was very surprised, not because I doubted my sister's abilities; it is simply a film that has a lot of depth.”
The businessman assured that he went to see the tape without having a prior knowledge of the plot, therefore, he appreciated it just as any viewer would and was very surprised with the cinematographic proposal.
“I saw her recently [Beatriz at Dinner] and I really loved it; yes, it is super good. I didn't know anything about the movie and I was cold like that”, he added.
However, like his younger brother, they have not talked about his impressions because he assures that "when we are together we do not talk much about that subject [their work]".
Sami Hayek believes "yes" and it is Salma's turn to get the much desired Oscar; Although she assures that she also deserved it when she played the Mexican painter Frida Khalo.
