Tyerell Przybycien, an 18-year-old from the state of Utah, faces first-degree murder charges for helping his friend Jchandra Brown, 16, to commit suicide on May 6.
As revealed by People magazine on its online site, one of the key pieces of evidence in the case is a 10-minute video shot by Przybycien, in which Brown is seen hanging and killing himself. After the girl's death, the young man would also have exchanged text messages with another person telling him what had happened.
The teenager's body was discovered hanging from a tree by some turkey hunters, who also found a note and a phone with the video of the suicide. Przybycien was found crying very close to the scene.
Despite the fact that the adolescent's defense team does not dispute the youth's participation in the suicide, it does allege that the murder charges attributed to him are unjustified, since the decision to kill himself was made by Brown.
Detectives in charge of the investigation of the case have also revealed that in other messages found on the defendant's phone, he shows his emotion at the possibility of participating in suicide.
I want to help her. It would be amazing … I'm crazy. I'm not kidding. It will be in a week or two,”reads a text that the person sent to a third person. While the case is ongoing, Przybycien remains in custody in a Utah jail and has posted a $ 500,000 bond.
