A young university student received criticism and was branded as racist after having published a video in which she exposes that dating a black or African American woman is "rare".

Ohio State University student Katelyn Rust appears in a video on Twitter, ranting about her ex-boyfriend because he was allegedly dating a young African-American woman. Rust is a fair-skinned girl, as seen in the video posted by another Miami college girl named Aleigha Mason, the Daily News explains.

What is the strangest thing about the situation? The note states that Rust was allegedly infuriated to have learned that her ex-boyfriend was dancing with Mason, who is a black woman. It should be noted that when looking for the Rust page on Twitter, we found that the account no longer exists or has been unsubscribed.

In a statement Rust gave, The Lantern newspaper apologized for the incident in the following words: “First of all, racism is wrong. I, in no way, think that another person is less like a person than another because of the color of their skin, nationality, religion, sexual preference or other things. And honestly, I apologize for the words that appear in this Twitter video.”

Likewise, Rust went on to say that he had personally apologized to "the young woman who posted this video [Mason] and I explained that my reference to weirdness had nothing to do with her skin color." In addition, she assured that when she made the video she was very hurt with her ex-boyfriend and was jealous.
