A woman from the province of Alberta, Canada, was pleasantly surprised to retrieve a wedding ring that had been missing 13 years ago and appeared inside a carrot.
The surprising discovery happened in the town of Armena. There, the daughter-in-law of Mary Grams, 84, unearthed the ring while picking carrots on the farm that has been in the family for 105 years, where the old lady previously lived.
Colleen Daley, told the AP agency that she was picking vegetables for dinner and that when she took the carrot out of the ground she noticed that it had a strange shape. The woman was about to feed her dog, but chose to pick her up instead.
When she started cleaning the vegetables, she discovered that inside the curious tubercle was a diamond ring and immediately called her husband to tell him what had happened. The man knew immediately that it was his mother's wedding ring, who told him that he had lost the jewel - but he never told his father - who died five years ago.
