Man Strangled His Mother?

A man in California was arrested because he allegedly called the 911 emergency system to indicate that he had strangled his mother at her Orange County, California home.

The 26-year-old individual, identified as Brandon Sánchez, was placed in police custody after making the call.

"He [Sanchez] said he strangled his mother and that she was dead," Sgt. Phil McMullin of Orange County, California explained to People.

Officer McMullin explains that Sanchez made the 911 call at 2:45 pm Then, he reported what happened. Sanchez explained that he had killed his mother, Jamie Greene, who was 53 years old. This, apparently after they had a dispute in the house.

"When you hear a call that goes like this, you hope that he is hallucinating and that this is not true," said the officer. However, McMullin told People that the facts were true. "This was a case where it really happened," he said.

The police arrived at the scene at Ridgemont Court and managed to get Sanchez out of his house; that's when they arrested him. The magazine also reports that officers entered the property and saw his mother's body on the ground.

McMullin explained that no calls for police assistance had been reported previously from the home of Sanchez, who lived with his mother and stepfather.
