New York authorities are investigating what caused the fall of a huge tree on a mother and her three children in the famous Central Park.

According to The New York Times, Anne Monoky, 39, was walking Tuesday morning with her children near 62nd Street and West Drive when the tree fell on top of her and her children, aged 7 months. and the 4 years old, trapping them under their branches

The first reaction of the passers-by was to take out their cell phone to take photos of the gigantic trunk that crossed one of the park's tracks. But then they heard the crying of the children and realized the unimaginable: four people had been trapped under the huge branches.

Tourists and visitors immediately joined forces to try to free the three children and their mother. By the time the firefighters arrived, they had already rescued the three little ones. However, her mother, who had passed out, had to wait a little longer.

Antonio Russo, a witness to the events, said that when rescuers treated Monoky and acknowledged the knowledge, the first thing he did was start yelling for his youngest son, whom she had tied to his body before the accident. Fortunately, the little boy was already in the arms of a police officer.

Both the mother and her children were transferred to a nearby hospital, and although Monoky fractured a vertebra, all four were in stable condition.
