Nathaniel Glover, known as rapper Kidd Creole, faces murder charges after stabbing him to death in a roaming New Yorker, the Daily News reports.

The newspaper explains that Glover believed the man was teasing him - that is, flirting - on a Midtown street on the night of Tuesday, August 1, police and sources told the newspaper.

Glover, 57, was arrested for the murder of John Jolly, 55, a former convict accused of raping a woman in 1997, the note reports.

For his part, Glover belonged to Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, the famous hip-hip band of the seventies. The ex-hip hop singer works as a handy man and a security guard near the place where the events occurred.

A source told the New York newspaper that there was no relationship between the men at the time of the incident; they did not know each other. “There was no previous connection. They exchanged a few words. Things got out of control,”said the source.

Likewise, the person who interviewed the newspaper stated that Glover turned around because he interpreted that they were making some kind of insinuation. Then, the source warned the newspaper that: "One thing led to another and he (Glover) stabbed him twice in the chest."

Police said people walking down the street called the 911 emergency system to report what had happened because they thought the man was passed out. Jolly was taken to the Bellevue Hospital Center, where he died.
