A man allegedly murdered his wife because she was laughing at him.

Kristy Manzanares, 39, was found dead with a severe head injury in the cruise ship cabin where she was enjoying a vacation on Tuesday, July 25, federal court documents obtained by People indicate.

"There was blood scattered all over the room on multiple surfaces," the documents say. They also indicate that the deceased's husband, Kenneth Manzanares, was covered in blood. "My life ended," Manzanares allegedly told FBI agents who were processing him. Manzanares was charged with murder, an FBI spokesman told People.

The story relates that at around 9 pm, security officers and medical personnel from the Emerald Princess cruise ship - which had sailed from Seattle on Sunday but had to be diverted to Juneau, Alaska, due to the incident - responded to a call. it was made from a domestic dispute. Shortly after said personnel entered, Kristy Manzanares was pronounced dead, the note states.

A witness, People reports, told security that he entered the couple's cabin and saw Kristy Manzanares on the floor covered in blood. So when he noticed that Kenneth Manzanares had blood on his hands and the shirt asked him what had happened. "She kept laughing at me," he said.

The witness added that Manzanares allegedly grabbed the body of his wife and dragged him to the balcony of the cabin. However, the witness explained to security that he himself brought the body back to the room. Moments later the security officers arrived.

In a statement sent to People, the Princess Cruises company said, "A domestic dispute occurred aboard the Emerald Princess at approximately 9:00 pm on July 25, resulting in the death of a 39-year-old female passenger from Utah."

Manzanares has yet to appear before a magistrate and it is unknown if he already has the services of a lawyer.
