Anthony Todt, the man accused of murdering his wife and three children in Florida, could have had a very good teacher since his father was convicted of attempted murder in 1981.

According to Pennsylvania court documents obtained by People, Robert Todt orchestrated the murder of his son's mother about 40 years ago. Fortunately, Loretta Todt survived the attack in which she was shot in the face. According to the documents, the bullet "destroyed her left eye and remains embedded in her skull."

Due to this incident, Todt was prosecuted on multiple charges, including attempted murder, conspiracy, and hiring a hitman to murder his wife.

According to the documents, the then special education teacher had a relationship with a 17-year-old girl and was also engaged to a nurse. To get rid of his wife, the former educator hired a student, John Chairmonte, who pleaded guilty to his involvement in the incident, The Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper reported in 1981.

According to The Harford Courant, Todt was found guilty to the chagrin of his wife, who considered him innocent, and served a sentence of about 10 years. Eventually the woman asked for a divorce, after accepting that her husband had indeed attempted to murder her.

Now his son is in the same place as Anthony Todt faces four counts of first-degree murder and one count of animal cruelty for the deaths of his wife Megan, 42; Alek, 13; Tyler, 11; and Zoey, 4.

Authorities have not yet determined the alleged motive, nor have they expressed themselves regarding the alleged confession made by the suspect, who is also accused of insurance company fraud for $ 130,000.

According to federal authorities documents obtained by People, Anthony admitted having "accumulated" expenses to the accounts and living above their means.
