After the death by suffocation of two children who were left by their mother inside a car in high temperatures in Texas, police say the mother confessed that she wanted to teach them a "lesson," confirms People.

The children's parent, Cynthia Randolph, 24, was arrested in connection with the death of her children, Juliet, 2, and Cavanaugh Ramirez, 16 months.

The children were left in the vehicle for approximately three hours; 30 minutes after being found unconscious, the police announced their deaths.

When the boys' deaths were reported last month, Parker County Sheriff Mark Arnett told CNN that according to his mother, the children were playing in the back room of the home when they suddenly disappeared. After searching her, he continued to do so on the street where he later found them inside the car. According to the mother herself, one of them had his cell phone and car keys and had to break the car glass to get them out.

But what happened when the mother finds the boys and they don't want to get out of the car is what has taken another turn. The new version of the police says: “[Randolph] closed the car door to give him a 'lesson', thinking that the little girl could get out of the car and get her brother out. The woman later allegedly admitted that she broke the car's glass to make it "look like an accident."

Randolph is being held in the Park County Jail on $ 200,000 bail and faces two charges of intentionally causing bodily harm to a minor.
