A double tragedy occurred in Tempe, Arizona after a four-month-old baby died suffocated by the weight of his mother, who reportedly had a sudden heart attack.
The events occurred this Saturday, February 1, when Larinique Meadows, 38, fell on top of little Denari, her newborn baby, while they were inside their home.
"[He experienced] a type of heart condition [or] cardiac episode," Tempe police detective Greg Bacon explained on a news conference, which was broadcast by local station KNXV and later posted on Facebook.
According to the police, just before his death Meadows was looking for information about heart problems on his mobile phone and at that moment the incident occurred after which he fell on his own little son.
Worst of all, mother and son were found dead by the creature's father, who woke up around 5:00 pm to go to his night job.
"The dad works very hard, he works nights and had just come from working his previous shift," Bacon explained. "He went to sleep and when he woke up he found that Mom was on top of Denari."
"It is very, very sad and we are in mourning along with the family," said the detective. The Maricopa County coroner is now working on the case to determine the cause of death, although police believe the minor died of suffocation.
