After the assault suffered by Bobby Larios' sister, María del Carmen, his doctors are carrying out the appropriate treatments to determine his brain damage. Given this, if they determine that the neurological situation is irreparable, the family must decide whether or not to disconnect it from the machines that keep it alive.
"Right now he is in a coma, he had an operation already because he suffered a very bad blow to the head, which caused him to form a blood clot," Larios told the Mexican newspaper Reforma. "They gave us 72 to 96 hours to make the decision, this to see how it reacts because it is breathing artificially."
At the moment, the results of a tomography are awaited to know how it is evolving, which will be essential to determine the future situation of the 56-year-old woman.
"It seems that the clot in his head had already been removed, so you have to wait for his brain to deflate," said Larios. "They are going to begin to disconnect her little by little so that she can breathe again in case she could not, it is very cruel for us to make such a strong decision [like deciding on her death] because we do not want our sister to live badly either."
Larios has mentioned to various media that his relative was found a week after the attack inside his house in Baja California, Mexico, which has complicated his situation. He was contacted last week via Facebook by the hospital, because the family had 15 years of not knowing about María del Carmen, who by his own decision stayed away. However, now other brothers are with her in the Ensenada hospital, where she remains hospitalized.
