They say there is no evil that does not come for good. And in the case of the sad and shocking story of little Frankie Delgado Jr., 4 years old, who died a few days ago "drowned in dry", the experience has served to save the life of another child.
In this case it is Gío Vega, 2 years old, and resident in Colorado. According to Garon Vega, father of the minor, the family had gone swimming in the community pool and there his son inhaled water. After that he began to notice something strange in Gío. The boy began to cough, he got a fever. His father was alarmed.
"I realize his heart was beating very fast, so much so that I could feel it when he was lying on my chest," Vega told ABC 12 KSAT in a video conversation.
The father then explained that he had read about the Frankie Delgado tragedy and immediately left for the hospital with his son, where the doctors explained that his son was in fact drowning.
"The x-rays showed that there was a considerable amount of water in his lungs," explained the father, "and that it was a good thing that we took him to the emergency room because if he didn't, he would not have made it past that night."
