A new tragedy of deceased children inside a car adds to the long list of cases so far this summer. This time it has happened in Texas, where two little ones have lost their lives after spending fifteen hours locked inside a car in which they were intentionally placed by their mother.

Amanda Hawkins, 19, of the boys, has been arrested in San Antonio on charges of abandoning and endangering the lives of the two girls.

According to the police, the young mother took her two daughters, Brynn Hawkins, just one year old, and Addyson Overgard-Eddy, two, to the local medical center last Wednesday due to the serious condition of the little girls that, according to her, they had passed out smelling some flowers.

However, officials later determined that Hawkins had purposely left them in the car for 15 hours while she was visiting friends in the area, from Tuesday night until noon on Wednesday.

Although at night the temperature was 60 degrees, during the day it reached 90, predicting the terrible end of the little ones. As soon as the mother became aware of the situation, she first tried to wet them with cold water to avoid having to go to the hospital and report the terrible mistake she had made.

"This is one of the most terrifying cases of child dangerousness I have seen in my 37 years of profession," Sheriff WR "Rusty" Hierholzer said in a press release. The little ones could not survive and finally died on Thursday.

Their bodies have been taken to a specialized center where an autopsy is being performed to learn more about the results of one of the saddest cases in recent times.
