Mother Tries To Suffocate And Poison Her Children For Revenge

A mother in the Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates faces two counts of trying to murder her two children, after authorities came home after receiving a call warning that the little ones could be in danger.

According to the Daily Herald, agents found Tracy F. Johnson, 38, unconscious lying on the floor and her two children in very poor condition. The older 5-year-old was passed out and the younger, just 2 years old, was wandering around the house tripping and looking up.

The three family members were taken to a nearby hospital, after which the investigation revealed that Johnson had drugged his children with benzodiazepam, a type of medication described as a tranquilizer and familiarly known as Valium and Xanax. She had also consumed it.

Investigators also discovered that the mother would have covered the boys' heads with plastic bags and tied them with string to suffocate them. Then he lit the natural gas burners on the stove, to kill them.

In the midst of all this, the desperate woman texted her mother to say that she loved her. She alerted another of her daughters who ended up calling the police.

Johnson reportedly told investigators that he took this action because he did not want his children to see his ex-partner, and that "heaven was the best place for all three." He had also written on a white board that the father of his two-year-old son was a "fraud" and that he wished that he could not rest the rest of his life.
