Several people walking in the center of the small town of East Palestine, Ohio, were speechless when they saw that a small 8-year-old boy was driving a huge van. The surprise was greater when, when looking at it more closely, they discovered that he was not alone: in the passenger seat he was carrying a 4-year-old girl, who turned out to be his little sister.

The unusual event happened last Sunday around 8 p.m., and according to the local newspaper, The Weirton Daily Times, the little one came to the only McDonald's restaurant in that town, because he wanted to eat a cheeseburger. Since his parents were asleep, he searched YouTube for videos on how to drive a vehicle, and immediately put them into practice driving his dad's car a mile and a half from his house to that restaurant.

It is striking that the boy was well prepared, since he had taken savings from his piggy bank, to be able to pay for his food.

When he passed the fast service window, the employees couldn't believe what they were seeing. According to what Jacob Koehler, the police officer who came to attend to this curious case, related, the employees who attended him thought that it was a joke, and that the parents of the minor were hiding in the back seat of the car.

The brothers were invited to enter the premises, while the police tracked down their parents. As it is a small city, inside there were some friends of the family who immediately contacted her to come for them. While waiting for them, the children were able to eat their cheeseburger quietly.

Witnesses who saw him drive, assure that the little boy did it perfectly, respecting even the traffic laws: stopping in front of the stop signs and even waiting for the other cars to pass before crossing to the left, to reach the McDonald's.

Although it was his first time behind the wheel, the boy did not collide with a mailbox or get off the sidewalk. "It didn't hit anything in its path," Koehler said. "It's kind of surreal."

The police did not file police charges for this fact.
